If you have recently invested in a Cricut device, then you will probably want to download the Cricut Design Space companion app.

Cricut's Maker machines are more popular than ever, and one of those devices will allow you to carry out a wide variety of crafting projects. While there is Cricut software for Apple and Windows computers, there may come a point when you want to tackle some projects on an Android device, and that is what Cricut Design Space is for.

Even though the Cricut team is constantly improving this app, it is important to remember that Design Space might not work on older Android devices. Luckily, Design Space is free to download, and that means you can test it out without inputting your credit card information. Once you have installed the app, you will be able to choose from a wide variety of projects ranging from custom t-shirts to personalized cardboard banners.

Cricut Design Space for Android currently comes with just over 60,000 fonts, projects, and images to choose from. You also have the option of uploading your own images to start projects from scratch. After you have completed the design stage of the project, you can upload your image to your Cricut account or send the instructions over Bluetooth.

If you are looking for inspiration, then you can log into the app and search through other user’s designs. While many of those designs must be purchased, quite a few users give away their projects for free. With this app, you are going to have access to millions of templates, fonts, and images.

The biggest drawback of Cricut Design Space is the fact that it is very resource-intensive, and it might not work well if you have an older device. That being said, Design Space should run smoothly on most tablets and smartphones that have been released within the past few years.

Pros:

  • Thousands of pre-made templates
  • Automatically sync between devices
  • Wirelessly upload projects to your Cricut Maker

Cons:

  • Resource-intensive software
  • Large projects are slow to upload
